Ben Maurer has been allocated $3000 by Nat (from Novell’s GNOME Bounties) to offer bounties for memory reduction in Gnome. I think the amount of innovation amongst the Gnome devs has led to pushing for more features rather than optimization and hopefully with this announcement this will change.

Looks like Bryan is gonna give us the first real audio cd burning app for Gnome! I’ve been testing Coaster since day one and it’s a really nice burning app, so I’m stoked that he’s finally getting around to adding audio cd’s as well… Rock on Bryan! I can almost hear it… – Bryan Forbes
